Why Bamboo?
Why do I use bamboo?
Bamboo isn’t just beautiful, it’s one of the most sustainable materials on the planet. Unlike Wood from trees that take between 20–60 years to mature, bamboo can be harvested in just three years. But, unlike trees that need choppin down, bamboo doesn’t need replanting. It grows back from its own root system, meaning no soil disruption and protecting ecosystems and Bamboo typically requires no pesticides as its a grass and no fertilisers, making it gentle on the environment.
Also, bamboo captures significantly more carbon dioxide and releases more oxygen than trees.
Bamboo also is lighter, stronger and has an incredible flax, perfect for surfskates.
Performance and fun shouldn't come at a cost to the environment.
I use plant based inks/paints, solvent free bonding and the wheels are 70% plus recycled.
